Manana Take is a goddess in Rapa Nui (Easter Island) mythology, recognized as a deity of the sky and the consort of Era Nuku, the god of feathers and farming. According to tradition, she once visited Earth in the form of a fish, which was subsequently presented to the king. Recognising the divinity in the fish, all monarchs were thereafter forbidden to swim in the sea.
