- The fertility and nature gods of Vanaheim

Brief Bio

he Vanir are a distinct family of Norse deities associated with fertility, wisdom, nature, magic (seiðr), and prosperity, residing in Vanaheimr. Often contrasted with the warlike Æsir, the Vanir fought a long war against them before reaching a truce and exchanging hostages, leading to a merged, peaceful pantheon.

The most prominent Vanir are Njörðr (god of the sea/wind) and his children, Freyr (fertility, sunshine) and Freyja (love, fertility, battle).
