Brief Bio
In Norse mythology, Midgard is the Middle Earth, the abode of humans, situated between the divine realm of Asgard and the land of the dead, Helheim. Derived from Old Norse and Germanic languages, the name "Midgard" means "Middle Enclosure" and reflects its position as a central, safe realm surrounded by the turbulent oceans and the domain of giants.
Midgard was formed from the body of the first giant, Ymir, after he was slain by the gods. It is one of the Nine Worlds, positioned in the center of the universe and surrounded by an ocean. The Bifrost Bridge, guarded by the god Heimdall, connected Midgard to Asgard. Midgard represented the civilized, human world within a larger, wilder universe.
