In Norse mythology, Alfheim is the realm of the luminous Light Elves (Ljósálfar), a place of radiant beauty and ethereal light, and is ruled by the Vanir god Freyr. It is one of the nine worlds connected by the World Tree, Yggdrasil, and is known for its inhabitants who are fairer than the sun and inspire art and wisdom.
