Brief Bio

In Mesoamerican mythology, Anáhuac (meaning "near the water" in Nahuatl) refers to the Valley of Mexico, specifically the area surrounding Lake Texcoco, where the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan was located. It's also sometimes used as a broader term for the heartland of Aztec Mexico. According to Aztec legend, their ancestors migrated from the north, guided by the god Huitzilopochtli, to this valley, where they eventually founded Tenochtitlan.
