Brief Bio

The Ahuizotl is a legendary water creature, often described as a dog-like being with a monkey-like hand on the end of its tail. It was believed to inhabit lakes and rivers and lure people to their deaths, particularly fishermen and those who ventured near the water's edge. The Ahuizotl is also described as a guardian of aquatic realms, and a messenger of the rain goddess Chalchiuhtlicue.
