Brief Bio
Takamagahara (高天原), often translated as the "High Plain of Heaven," is the celestial realm of the heavenly gods, the Amatsukami. It is depicted as a place above the earth, connected to it by the Ame-no-ukihashi (Floating Bridge of Heaven). Unlike some other mythologies' heavens, Takamagahara is not a place of afterlife reward, but rather the dwelling place of these divine beings.
