Brief Bio
Jizo, also known as Jizo Bosatsu, is a popular Buddhist deity in Japan, revered for his compassion and role as a protector, especially of children, travelers, and those in the afterlife. He is a bodhisattva, one who has achieved enlightenment but delays Buddhahood to help others. Jizo is often depicted as a monk, sometimes carrying a staff and a wish-fulfilling jewel.
