Brief Bio
In Japanese mythology, Izanami (also known as Izanami-no-Mikoto) is a creation goddess and the mother of Japan, along with her brother and husband, Izanagi. She is also a goddess of death, associated with the underworld and the process of dying. Izanami and Izanagi are credited with creating the Japanese archipelago and many of the kami (spirits or deities) that inhabit it.
