Brief Bio

In Japanese mythology, the Ame-no-ukihashi, or Floating Bridge of Heaven, is a bridge that connects the heavens and the earth. It plays a significant role in the creation myth, where the deities Izanagi and Izanami stand upon it to stir the primordial waters and form the Japanese archipelago. The bridge is also associated with the god Sarutahiko Ōkami, who initially blocks the descent of Ninigi-no-Mikoto, but is later persuaded by Ame-no-Uzume.
