Amaterasu Ōmikami is the Shinto goddess of the sun and the universe, revered as the supreme deity and the ancestor of the Imperial Japanese family. Her sacred mirror, Yata no Kagami, symbolizes truth and divine authority, and she remains a potent symbol of Japan’s spiritual heritage and imperial legitimacy.
