- Roman death god of punishment and broken oaths

Brief Bio

Orcus was an ancient Roman god of the underworld, punishment, and broken oaths, a less celebrated but feared figure who tormented evildoers in the afterlife. His name was also used to refer to the underworld itself, similar to how Hades referred to the Greek underworld. He was sometimes conflated with Pluto and Dis Pater, and may have originated from the Etruscan religion and the Greek demon Horkos.
