Key Points / Halloween Connection

- Norse death goddess and ruler of the underworld

Brief Bio

In Norse mythology, Hel is the goddess of death and ruler of the underworld realm of Helheim, a cold and dark place where those who die of sickness or old age go. She is the daughter of Loki and the giantess Angrboða, and was given dominion over this realm by Odin after being cast out of Asgard. Hel is typically depicted as having a grim, half-living, half-decayed appearance, reflecting her gloomy demeanor and connection to the afterlife.
