Brief Bio

The myth of Hades and Persephone tells of Hades, the god of the underworld, abducting the maiden Persephone, daughter of the harvest goddess Demeter, and taking her to his realm. Demeter's grief causes a famine, leading Zeus to broker a deal where Persephone spends part of the year with her mother on Earth, explaining the changing seasons, and the rest of the year as queen in the underworld with Hades.
