Brief Bio

Oba is a Yoruba goddess, an orisha, associated with the river Oba and known as the goddess of marriage, loyalty, fidelity, and female honor, particularly concerning wifehood and motherhood. She is also recognized as the first wife of Shango, the Yoruba deity of thunder and lightning. A key aspect of her mythology involves a story where she is tricked into cutting off her ear to prove her love to Shango, which ultimately led to her banishment and becoming the river Oba.
