Brie Bio
In Yoruba mythology, the Iroko-man is a powerful spirit associated with the Iroko tree, known for both good and evil magic. He is feared, as looking upon his face is believed to drive one mad and lead to death, yet he is also appealed to for blessings, particularly fertility. The spirit of the Iroko-man can be heard in houses that use Iroko wood because the spirit is trapped in the wood. To protect themselves, people can pray before cutting down an Iroko tree.
