Brief Bio

In African mythology, specifically among the Lozi people of Zambia, the Ilomba is a sea snake, often depicted as a familiar spirit, created by a witch doctor or sorcerer. It is used as a tool for sorcery, particularly to harm or kill enemies, and is closely linked to its creator. The Ilomba is believed to consume the victim's soul, and its creator feels the pain if it is harmed or killed.

IIomba are created using the witchdoctor's finger nails and blood from their forehead, back, and chest and combined using magic. It takes on the identity of its creator, so victims see the face of the creator while everyone else will view it as a normal snake. Killing the IIomba will kill the owner and vice versa.
