Key Info

- Divine twins who represent duality, balance and harmony

Brief Bio

In Yoruba mythology, Ibeji refers to both the divine twins and the orisha (deity) representing them. Twins are highly revered in Yoruba culture and are believed to possess a single soul shared between them. If a twin dies, a carved wooden figure, also called Ibeji, is created to represent them and is cared for by the family as if it were the living twin.
